It was our privilege to be able to look after the family of Mr Eddie Goodall who agreed to their father’s funeral service being documented for a moving photo essay on yesterday’s Guardian online.
Mr Goodall died of CV-19 earlier this month and his funeral would have been attended by up to 400 family and friends. Instead it had to be significantly scaled back to be within the current restrictions imposed by the government in respect of gatherings and social distancing. We want to thank the family for sharing this precious day with us to illustrate a funeral in lockdown.
We are working hard to support grieving families during what are unimaginably difficult circumstances, to deliver our services safely and compassionately whilst enabling people to say goodbye.
